Look, I've been very busy the past week. I think this covers the major features we've got implemented
Signup
- Sign in with your Bluesky account (no password needed)
- Forum automatically loads your Bluesky display name, avatar, and handle
- Profile stays in sync — update your Bluesky profile and it refreshes on your next post
Browsing & Reading
- Forum Index — Browse hierarchical forum structure with sub-forums
- Thread Listings — See threads with unread indicators (shows which threads have new posts since your last visit)
- Quote links — Replies that quote specific posts show links to jump to the original post
Posting
- Markdown
- Emoji picker
- Link previews — Paste a URL on its own line and the forum fetches the page title and preview image automatically
Managing your own posts
- Edit your posts — Modify your own posts; edits are tracked in revision history (visible to you and mods)
- Hide posts — Remove your post from public view (mods can still see it, and you can restore it)
- Delete posts — With moderator help, permanently clear post content (a stub remains to preserve quote links). This is irreversible.
- Bulk management — Visit your /manage-posts page to hide/delete multiple posts at once
- Anonymize your account — Replace your name with "[deleted]" on all past posts (irreversible)
- Delete all post content — Permanently clear text from all your posts (irreversible)
Custom roles
- Color tags that can be used to decorate, or grant access to forums
Notifications (opt-in)
- In-app inbox — Always-on notification feed about activity on the forum
- Bluesky DM notifications (opt-in):
- Get notified when someone replies to your post
- Get notified when someone quotes your post
- Get notified of new replies in threads you're following
- Configurable frequency: immediate (within 10 min), hourly digest, or daily digest
- Per-thread overrides:
- Follow — Always notify me about this thread
- Mute — Never notify me about this thread
- Default — Use my global settings
Settings & Customization
- Notification preferences — Control what notifications you receive and how often
- Light/dark theme toggle — Switch between themes
- Timezone support — Set your timezone (affects how times are displayed)
Account & Privacy
- Ban appeals — If banned, see the reason and contact admins
- Privacy by design — Your handle and avatar are public; email is never collected; OAuth tokens are not stored beyond your session
For Forum Moderators (if assigned a moderator role)
- Ability to moderate posts/threads in assigned forums
- Access to moderation tools (details in ADMIN_GUIDE.md)
