Ahaha so this is apparently a stupid bug... in that it's DST aware in the sense that it used unixtime diffs, so the relative time is always fine
BUT, silly enough the post ABSOLUTE timestamp was coded up before we added user timezones as a concept and I forgot to make it timezone aware
